Questions

What injured workers ask us on the first call

Does it cost anything to talk to you?

No. The first conversation and the first meeting are free, and you're under no obligation after them.

How do you get paid?

No fee unless you receive benefits. The fee is a share of what you're awarded, written down before we start. Case costs, like medical records, are separate, and we tell you which ones you may owe.

Do I need a lawyer if my claim was accepted?

Not always. But accepted claims go wrong too: the weekly rate is low, treatment is refused, or checks stop. A short call can tell you if yours is on track.

Will I have to go to court?

Many claims are settled or fixed without a hearing. If yours needs one, it's in front of a judge, not a jury, and your lawyer goes with you.

Can you help if I was hurt in another state?

Our lawyers are admitted in the states listed on their pages. If your claim belongs somewhere else, we'll tell you and help you find someone there.

What should I bring to the first meeting?

Any letters from the insurer, your doctor's notes, a recent pay stub and the name of your supervisor. If you don't have them, come anyway.

Can I switch to you if I already have a lawyer?

Yes, though it's worth talking to your lawyer first. If you do switch, we handle the transfer of your file.

Do you work for employers or insurance companies?

Never. Every client we have is an injured worker or a worker's family.

Ask us the one that's keeping you up

Ask it. Somebody at your nearest office will call you back.
